Good morning, Friends! It appears as though I pissed several of you off the other day with the political cartoon I posted (although, if youre still here, you either didnt see it or werent that upset). Despite my best efforts to facilitate a conversation about our environment regardless of political affiliation, the tone immediately went negative and, busy with real life, I didnt see it all until several hours later. It was not my intention to anger anyone. I should have known better...should have known that politics bring out the worst in people. I try to approach each situation from an open space of understanding, empathy and positivity and thought I could steer the conversation with my intro. Unfortunately, intended messages dont always always come across as such on Facebook and often times, people looking for a fight will find one. Youre still here, so, excellent and thanks for sticking around. Also, THANK YOU to those of you who commented positively and who engage with this page in a positive way every day. I have honestly been thinking about packing it all in and stepping back from this platform entirely because of the negativity that runs so rampantly on Facebook in general, but those of you who make the world brighter and engage intelligently and positively in this space are the reason Im still here. My original intention with this Facebook page was to offer an extension of my blog, a different peek into our experiences and my perspective...to share articles, photos, conversation, and a passion for our environment...to share steps & ideas to help us heal our planet by changing our habits...one step at a time. My intention is not to put myself out there to be attacked, but with 13,357 of you right now and a billion more on Facebook in general, unfortunately and apparently, its bound to happen. However, I dont accept drama and mean-spiritedness in my real life and I wont accept it here. Debate is one thing, attacks are something else entirely. My hope is that we can all play nice together and learn from each other in a constructive way. No more politics from me, no more hate from you. Deal? I hope that, whatever youre doing today, its awesome and beautiful and fills you with joy. Cheers!
