Good morning, In today’s Church in the News: Probationer Minister David McNeish at Liberton Kirk has done an amazing job, as part of the school chaplaincy team, working with local schoolchildren following the death of their classmate Keane Wallis-Bennett in an accident at their High School earlier this year. Rev McNeish has not only assisted them in recording a song to raise money for a memorial garden, but has succeeded in helping Keane’s family and the girls in attracting a great deal of positive media attention for the initiative. David’s work is a tremendous example of the value of school chaplaincy, even though most of the coverage does not reflect on this. David was happy to dodge a BBC TV interview because the reporter found Keane’s classmates were such great interviewees David was superfluous to their requirements.
