Good morning.It is early.I have just woken up.The news out of Israel is heavy.Lots of our boys wounded ,some dead.Hamas terrorists dead as well as civilians.This is the madness of war yet we must defend ourselves against an enemy that knows only to hate.The demonstrations across the world only underscore the hate that has manifested against us.We will remain resolute.We have learned the lessons of the Holocaust.I mourn for lives lost on both sides of people in the wrong place at the wrong time whether they be Palestinian or Israeli.I can do no less as a human being with a soul. I wish for a peace that would descend even as i know this is not possible right now but perhaps in time.I know Israel to be a wonderful country that just wants peace.Unlike the hateful propaganda that has taken hold in peoples minds around the world prompted and made large by their age old dislike of the Jews we do not want to rule over anyone or subjugate anyone .We just want to live in peace in a country that is our homeland since 4,000 years ago.It is a small land and we have won the right to it . Even as we fight against an evil terrorism we must carry with us a vision of this peace .We must hold it as a candle flickering in our hearts .We must ourselves not give into hate but embrace peace even as our swords are now bloody .
