Good morning! It is such a beautiful morning! It saddens me to think that there are millions of people who can not see the beauty of the morning because of the darkness of the night. This morning, some 5-year old little girl awakened in her bedroom where her cousin entered last night and made her a woman. She had no choice in the matter--she did not know what was going on. But, this morning, the beauty of the morning is clouded with the screams and the threats of last night...no one will believe you...dont scream or I will hurt your mommy...I am your favorite cousin - if you love me, you will do it... That little girl is struggling to find the beauty that we see this morning. How can we help her? We can help her, and other children, by empowering them! We teach them to say Dont Touch Me!™ if they are being touched inappropriately. We MUST have the conversation about molestation that we avoid like the plague. Education and empowerment are the key.
