Good morning and happy spring break!!!! Praise the Lord Most High for this break, God knows I definitely needed it. I hope you guys have enjoyed your weekend being with your home churches or just being around the people you love. During this break, Ill challenge you, DONT WASTE IT. What does God want to teach you in this next week. Relax yes, enjoy it yes, sleep in yes, but dont waste opportunities God presents to you to further his kingdom while you are home. You will only get this spring break once. So live it up, get refreshed, and go hard for the Lord! Here is some Scripture encouragement/challenge: The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe. ~Proverbs 18:10 The wealth of the rich is their fortified city; they imagine it an unscalable wall.~Proverbs 18:11 Picture two towers. You are in battle and you have two towers to run to and get behind. One tower is a tower made of your idols and you IMAGINE it to be unbreakable and that you are safe behind it. The other tower is the name of the LORD and this tower is made of the secure Love of Christ and and God says you will be safe behind it. Which tower are you in? Everybody has a city or tower that they run into when they are attacked. According to these two verses, there is an astronomical difference between the tower of the wealth of the rich and the tower of the name of the LORD. Do you run to the tower of pride, anger, lust, anxieties, insecurities, acceptance, gossip, etc? Or do you have the self-control to run to the Name of the LORD? Behind your idol tower, it only takes a part of the wall to be broken for you to be in trouble--any passion that gets out of control can destroy your life. Definition of self-control: The ability to choose the important thing over the urgent thing. The most important this thus becomes the most desired thing. So, what do you desire? Addictions and idols are driven by desires: love, intimacy, purpose, wholeness, goodness, shalom, peace, acceptance, comfort etc... only running into the Name of the LORD can truly satisfy these desires. Not your tower of idols, ever. How will you run into His Name? keep this truth in mind: WE CHOOSE WHAT WE BELIEVE IS MOST PLEASING. So what will you desire? KNOW your are dead to sin, CONSIDER yourself dead to sin, and PRESENT yourself as an instrument of righteousness. Run into the tower of the LORD today, He will keep you secure, always. How will you run to Him today instead of your lesser gods and idols. STOP running to those towers that are not secure! Take your desires and present them before the LORD and let Him hold them and work with them! Love you guys have an amazingly blessed week
