Good morning and welcome to YourElevationToday (YET). Our topic is, Walking in the light of God. “Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine” (2 Tim 4:2 KJV) Dorcas gave her life to Christ one morning, sitting on a bench in school. While waiting for her class to commence, a young lady from another faculty came and sat beside her and shared with her the gospel. It was simply overwhelming. She had just been thinking about a conversation she had with a friend who also shared the word of life with her only the day before. She later admitted that God must have been hard at work trying to get her attention. What does this mean for us as believers? We are not to have a seasonal approach to sharing our faith. Consistency is key! First of all, we never know how close the person we’re talking to is to making that life changing decision, and all they need is one more nudge to get them across the finish line. Secondly, the bible admonishes us to preach, to reprove, to rebuke and to exhort. Variation helps. Sometimes people need a word of encouragement, everyone could use a Barnabas every now and then. However, there will be time when stern reproof is required. This is not to say that in sharing our faith, we should get into quarrels; but we must keep in mind that we must stand firm in defense of the truth. Bottom line?
