Good morning everyone! For those of you who fancy a completely relaxed, stress-free couple of days and an evening on track at Cadwell Park on your solo, in the company of very good friends of mine, Ixion@Cadwell2014 booking is now open for 7th & 8th August for a grand total of £186. This was the trackday which Guy Martin visited last year, giving the whole middle (Piglets) group the opportunity to say theyd overtaken him...(without mentioning that he was on an AR50 at the time). Its the perfect trackday or novices as there is none of the pressure of a commercial trackday. These days there are a dearth of Eeyores - novice / slow group riders - while the Piglets and Tiggers groups fill very quickly. If you are contemplating your first ever trackday, this is definitely the one to do. We also have Ixion instructors on hand who will spend as much or as little time with you on track as you wish - at no extra cost (although they may be keen for you to pay them in beer at the bar in the evening!). We traditionally have a low accident / red flag rate - IIRC we had only two red flags through the whole of 2013 Ixion@Cadwell, so very little stoppage time. If someone is riding like a tit then they will be Having Words with Ruffle. The first session of each day is also No Brakes, so you have 20 minutes to get your head around which way the circuit goes and how your bike handles under gentle acceleration and engine braking - so far fewer brain out cold tyres moments. As Ruffle will explain at the morning briefings, this doesnt mean DONT brake if youre about to hit someone, but try to ride the circuit without using your brakes if you can. Excellent training at Mansfield and the Hairpin, for starters. Details: Thursday 7th & Friday 8th August - the two days are booked together. There is also a post-Cadwell meal at the Kings Head in Louth for those of you whod like to chew over all the tall stories from your two days on track, and see various awards handed out. Meal places need to be booked at the same time as the trackday. All the details about the two days, including regulations, not-scrutineering etc are at the following website: ruffle.me.uk/cadwell And from there you can follow the link to the booking system. Ruffle says: The facility to pay via Paypal is again available for those that no longer have cheque books and cant work out how to do Bank transfers. Payments by traditional means (bank transfer/cheque) get a six quid discount so its either 186 (Paypal) or 180 (Bank Transfer) GBP for the two days and 15 GBP for the meal. Yes, thats £186 for two full days and an evening session at Cadwell Park, with full MSV marshalling, medical back-up, canteen availability etc. PLEASE CHECK if you plan to camp overnight as Cadwell have been known to charge for overnight campers (£5 or £10pp from memory). Sadly I cant be there this year, as Im at Brands Hatch with Bemsee and cheering on my lovely husband Paul Willis on his return to solo racing in the MZs class. But there will be lots of lovely people at Cadwell who will all look after you. Ixies are wonderful people :) PLEASE share this post with anyone you think may be interested - the more the merrier, but once its full, its full.
