Weather Situation A high in the Tasman Sea extends a weakening ridge along the east coast of Queensland. A new high will enter the Tasman Sea on Friday, reinforcing the ridge. A trough and an associated south to southeasterly wind change will move north through southern Queensland waters today. Another trough will enter western Queensland on Saturday and shift slowly east over the interior during the weekend. Forecast for the rest of Thursday Isolated showers developing in the far southeast, mostly about the exposed southern coast and islands. Isolated showers about the central and east tropical coasts. Fine and mostly sunny through the remainder of the state. A warm day in the south and west with mostly light to moderate east to southeasterly winds, tending south to southeasterly near the southern coast during the day. Light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds elsewhere, fresh and gusty near the east tropical coast. _____________________________________________ Todays official forecast for the Herbert and Lower Burdekin and surrounds.
