Weather Situation A strong high close to Tasmania will move slowly eastwards over the next few days, extending a firm ridge into much of Queensland. An upper trough over northern Queensland will move slowly eastwards during today, contracting off the northeast coast of Queensland on Tuesday morning. A trough will develop over the Coral Sea today in response to the upper trough . Forecast for the rest of Monday Rain areas over the eastern tropics, breaking up to scattered showers during the day. Isolated showers about exposed parts of the coast south of about Bundaberg. Fine and mostly sunny over the rest of the state.
