Good morning, everyone. Ive been having a really good time this week visiting with fellow FLOATees Holland and Sean Muscio who are here in town attending the ISES Live event, and while its always fun doing touristy stuff with out-of-town friends, yesterday was a little more fun than usual. On Monday, another fellow FLOATee, Angela Andress Cba, called me out as part of the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, the viral marketing trend where people dump buckets of ice over their heads to bring awareness to ALS, also known as Lou Gerhigs Disease. And it just so happened that Sean had also been called out, so the two of us spent part of yesterday shooting our videos in support of our friends as well as those afflicted with this horrible disease. But of course, being balloon professionals we couldnt just do it like everyone else…we had to do it latex style…so we did. We dont want to give it all away, but it involves a linking balloon penguin. And since I addressed it as our official FLOAT version of the Ice Bucket Challenge, I officially challenged my fellow FLOAT crew mates Carl N. Woody, Rose TristnShout, Pat Crosland, Isabel Arroyo and Jonathan Daniel to not only take the challenge but also include their creativity with balloons as well. I did neglect to mention on the video, however, that in addition to the challenge, I will be making a donation as well to the cause. While I know theyre just as pleased with exposure as well as fund-raising, every little bit helps.
