Good morning everyone, here is your state forecast for today, Saturday 3rd January, 2015, courtesy of the BoM. ~ Gerry ================================= Weather Situation ----------------------- A high pressure system in the Tasman Sea extends a strengthening ridge along the east Queensland coast and a moist east to northeasterly wind flow through much of the state. A slow moving surface trough lies over central Australia. An upper level trough will shift east over southeastern Queensland today. Another upper level trough will enter the south-west of the state on Sunday and should shift east northeast over the state through the first half of next week. Forecast for the rest of our Saturday ---------------------------------------------- Showers and possible storms about the east coast and nearby inland, with showers more frequent near the central and east tropical coasts. A medium to high chance of showers and storms through the west, with possible locally heavy falls with storms, particularly in the north-west. A slight to medium chance of showers and storms through the central and south-east interior. Moderate to fresh southeast to northeasterly winds over eastern districts, tending north to northeasterly in the west.
