Good morning friends!!! God has placed it on my heart to share what I learned yesterday in my study. I was reading Psalm 25. Now, the entire Psalm was a wonderful treat and chalked full of Gods wisdom, but the very first verse really just grabbed my attention. So I began to study it. What I learned was just awesome. What this Psalmist declares from the very beginning is that he isnt seeking the ways of the ungodly...but the very opposite...he has all his desires and prayers directed to God alone. The meaning of this verse is that in order to strengthen the hope of obtaining Davids requests he declares what is of the greatest importance in prayer. What this was....David had all his hope fixed on God and was not trapped by the temptations of this world. Nothing prevented him from lifting up his soul 100% to God in a non-hypocritical way. We learn that we do not need to allow our minds to become distracted by various and uncertain hopes, nor to depend on worldly aid....but to give God the honor and glory by lifting up our hearts to him in sincere and earnest prayer. Nothing is more inconsistent with true and sincere prayer than to seek help from the world and forsake God. Or, to not take ourselves directly to His guardianship and protection. It never ceases to amaze me how so much meaning can be found in 1 little verse! God, by this 1 verses, was able to help me gain wisdom concerning my prayer life. Take time each day to not only read your Bible, but also to dig a little deeper and ask God to help you understand the message He wants you to get for the day. If you do not know how to dig deeper ....let me know and I will help you the best I can. I am, by no means an expert....but I love learning about Gods Holy Word and sharing it with others.
