Good morning friends. This morning I have been inspired by many posts on the many friend walls I went through. For myself, it now feels like a POWER morning! Thank you all for your wonderful and inspiring posts. On another note, I have been thinking about the heavy yoke/load we carry when we allow the "shame" of our past to be hidden in our closet somewhere. This gives the "shame" power over us. An example of this, is how we hide in our CVs a couple of skeletons. We use polished language to paraphrase the fact that we didnt finish the degree on time. We paraphrase the fact that we were fired from previous jobs. We hide in fancy language the fact that our businesses went under. In job intervies and business proposals, I look more for what a candidate has learnt from their mishaps. I become particularly curious when candidates appear squeeky clean. When it`s too good to be true, I follow through. Few people have had a perfect career, or a perfect ife for that matter. Perhaps I am only reflecting and justifying my personal failures, but I believe that the greatness of man lies not in never falling, but in rising after every fall. Reflecting on our mishaps allows us the opportunity to learn from them and become stronger, it frees us from the yoke of "false shame", as well as it allows others the space to be free from their own yoke. The Apostle Paul is very clear that he would rather boast in his weakness, becuase that is where the grcae of God becomes celebrated. When we speak about how God pulled us through a situation of inadequacy, we are glorifying God and testifying that His Grace is sufficient. Testimony is a powerful tool. The book of Revelations 12:11 teaches us that the devil is deafeated by the Blood of The Lamb and the word of testimony. Our past is a testimony. That we are still alive is a testimony to give others strength to go on. As for me; I`ve learnt that it is not by might, not by power, but by the spirit of God!
