Good morning on this brisk winter’s day. Yesterday we got a new server. That usually entails an exchange of paperwork and forms, assigning an employee # and pairing the new hire with an experienced server to watch & learn from. However, because this was a new computer server for our network, we felt these steps would be unnecessary. The computer had been here longer than half of the human servers. Lee (our tech guy) did a great job with the switch over. It went smother than we had any right to expect. We only got part of the job done yesterday. The back of the house files and programs are being transferred today. What the means, among other things, is that I had to print the menu before the opening chef came in this morning. Imagine my chagrin when I read the proposed menu and saw “Big Mike’s Chix”. I had to guess what Michael was planning on cooking. Maybe the Herb-Parmesan Crusted Chicken? I hope I am correct, as I’d like some for lunch. (ed. “Yes, it’s Herb-Parmesan Crusted Chicken, and tell Jason to stop calling me Big Mike.”) The soup (which I think is a perfect accompaniment to Herb-Parmesan Crusted Chicken) is Cream of Fresh Carrot Soup. The specials are a Liverwurst Sandwich with Sliced Red Onions or Baked Vienna Style Meatloaf with Mushroom Sauce. The desserts are Cherry Cake or Lemon Pudding (another course that will go well with Herb-Parmesan Crusted Chicken). See you on Fort Street, P.S. Big Mike, can you guess that I am in the mood for Herb-Parmesan Crusted Chicken? P.P.S. Jason, please now refer to Mike as “Biggest Mike.”
