Good news the temporary route for the Arataki to Huia section is - TopicsExpress

Good news the temporary route for the Arataki to Huia section is now open. Turn left at the end of Pipeline Tk and follow the Dam Rd through the Watercare depot to meet Parau Tk which you follow to Lower Huia Dam where you rejoin the trail. There are temporary route signs at each junction. Also thanks to Watercare for allowing access through their areas so please respect this. It is about 2km longer and allow an extra 1 -2 hours as Parau Tk is steep, muddy and rougher in places. For more info call in at the Arataki Visitor Centre.
