Good statement by Pakistan India Peoples Forum for Peace and Democracy urging the governments to arrange an urgent meeting of the Task Force of Indian Coast Guard and Pakistans Martime Security Agency (MSA), as well as a proper inquiry in the case of the firing that killed an Indian fisherman last Friday. It is a shame that poor fishworkers continue to pay - even with their lives - for the animosity and mistrust between India and Pakistan. My heart goes out to the family and friends of 30-year old Naranbhai Sosa who was killed and to his colleagues - what they must have gone through as they and their confiscated boats, along with their dead colleague, were herded off to imprisonment in Pakistan. I believe that MSA did not mean to kill anyone, and I wonder how the men are feeling who opened fire - what orders were they following and what charges they will face, if any.
