Good talk/presentation coming up on 3/25 at Jesse Browns. Jeff Botz, Charlotte Based Photographer with a specialty in photographing in the Everest Region of the Himalayas, will be making a presentation at JESSE BROWNS OUTDOORS, at Sharon Corners Shopping Center across from Southpark Mall(4732 Sharon Road - 704.556.0020) on Tuesday 25 March at 6:30. The presentation will feature an explanation of the geography of the Everest Region and the various approaches to Mt Everest as well as examples of photographs Mr. Botz has made using the 8x10 view camera and b&w film at heights on Mt Everest up to the 22,000 level. Hand made prints by Mr. Botz on fiber paper up to 24x30 will be on exhibit and for sale for prices ranging from $100 to $500 to support his 2014 Everest Expedition. Mr. Botz lived and worked for many years in New York City as a dye transfer printer and made prints for some of the worlds most famous photographers including Richard Avedon, Eliot Porter, Ernst Haas, Joel Myerowitz and made several hundred prints from the Library of Congress FSA Archive In 2011 one of his pictures was selected as the cover to the book titled MOUNTAIN written by Sandy Hill and published by Rizzoli International which had a history of mountain photography and photos included by Ansel Adams, Galen Rowell and almost 300 other photographers.
