GoodSundae parties its way into Bloem Catch AKA and Da L.E.S in action on Sunday, 13 October 2013, when the Doritos GoodSundae party series invades the Old Grey Sports Club in Bloemfontein. These Sunday-afternoon chillout sessions are taking the country by storm, and this weekend it’s the turn of the “city of roses” to wind down the weekend in style with some killer vibes and awesome company. Relaxation and recreation will be the name of the game from the moment the doors open at 1pm, when guests will be entertained by a scorching line-up of top local artists such as AKA and Da L.E.S, Thebe, Tira, Benny Maverick, DJ Feel and Major League. The good times keep on rolling until midnight. Hip-hop supremo AKA (also known as Kiernan Forbes) is currently riding the crest of a wave: over the past few years he has won SAMA awards, METRO FM awards, South African Hip Hop Awards and a Channel O music video award, while ruling the airwaves with a succession of number one singles. He also opened for Ne-Yo and Kanye West earlier this year. It’s fair to say AKA is one of the country’s hottest urban artists at the moment and Kontrol, his collaboration with fellow hip-hop heavyweight Da L.E.S, is burning up dancefloors nationwide! Leslie Mampe, also known as Da L.E.S (i.e. Leslie Equals Success), was born in the US but his music talent was shaped and perfected in South Africa. An accomplished hip-hop dancer and rapper, Da L.E.S achieved fame as one third of “muthaland crunk” outfit Jozi and, earlier this year, was crowned the winner of the Tropika Island of Treasure reality television show. Also on the party menu is kwaito star Thebe, best known for his smash hit Bula Boot, and popular DJ Tira, who is a hot audience favourite thanks to his collaborations with artists such as Professor, Teargas, L’vovo and Big Nuz. Plus, revellers can look forward to a dose of double hip-hop trouble from the Major League DJs, made up of twins Bandile and Banele Mbere, as well as Benny Maverick and DJ Feel mixing up a storm on the decks.
