Goodbye, Guatemala. I will miss your lush greenery, your friendly people who default to easy smiles and trust, your handmade corn tortillas, your rolling hills and sharp, magnificent mountains, your your sonorous and gaudy birds, your juicy watermelons (*real* watermelons with real *seeds* in them, like when I was young!), your national pride that doesnt take itself too seriously, your need of so few laws, your lovely children, your funky-ass youth drum corps, your slow pace, your beautiful women, your cool and crystal-clear waters, and your crazy chicken buses. Im afraid I will NOT miss your annoying bugs, your crazed road and driving culture, your disinterest in the utility of fans, your severely spotty cell phone and internet coverage, and your lack of any sort of addressing system (and subsequent lack of a postal service). Hasta la proxima!!
