Goodbye to Facebook is my news of the day.This is to let everyone know that Im closing my Facebook account for good. Im simply choosing to start a new more professional and personal lifestyle. Ive come to find that telling people near and dear to me about my triumphs and/or issues ultimately feels more satisfying in the end. No longer do I care about fake posts about celebrity deaths or what people I attended high school with years ago are having for lunch. Please dont take what I am saying the wrong way. I love each and everyone of you and still intend to stay in touch. Im just going to start going about it the old fashioned way. If you want to hang out, talk, or see what Im up to feel free to send me a text or even make the dreaded phone call :-) I want to see my friends and family face to face. I want to hear your voices and see that you are real. Most of all Im exited to get back in touch with reality. Facebook hasnt been all bad for me. Its linked me with the very people that helped to encourage me to seek treatment for PTSD and helped me to network and experience amazing opportunities. It has however brought much grief and unnecessary drama as well. I feel like I spend WAY to much time staring at this glowing screen and not near enough time staring into the eyes of the person Im talking to. I dont want to share someone elses joke with all of you and assume you laughed because I got a like. I want to tell you a joke I heard, or say Happy Birthday to your face and see a real smile. Im choosing to no longer be measured by the amount of likes on my status, but instead my the positive I bring into your life. Im going to leave this post up until Monday so everyone (that wants it) can get my contact info. Then, on Monday the page comes down.
