: Goon So Soon!!! Just few days left to mark the end of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) 2014 Batch A 21 Days Orientation Course which started 11th March, 2014, the NYSC officials and serving corps members at NYSC Perm. Orientation Camp, Awgu LGA, Awgu, Enugu State, regrets to announce the death of a Corps Member (Corper ILEAMINU YUSUF - EN/14A/---2) who died in services yesterday 26th March, 2014. Addressing corpers at the meditation ground this morning, the state coordinator of the scheme, Mr. Hilary Nasamu said Yusuf died as a result of complications arising from a dislocated disc he got after injuring himself on the football pitch. He said Yusuf was transferred from the camp clinic to an Orthopaedic hospital in Enugu when his condition worsened. It was soon discovered at the hospital that he had a heart condition when he was being treated, Nasamu said. He added that he was then immediately rushed to the University of Nigeria teaching hospital, Nsukka, where his laboured heart finally gave up. A mourning period was also announced at the camp which would last till 4pm today and also led to the cancellation of the scheduled yesterdays Airtel Talent Hunt Show and Todays Endurance Trek Activity... Before his death, he was an active corps member in all activities and a goalkeeper in his platoon football team in the camp. He his from Osun State, a graduate of Building Engineering from Oscotech Esa Oke, Osun State... May God grant the entire Nigerian, NYSC officials, corps members, and his family the fortitude to bear this loss and may his gentle soul rest in perfect peace, AMEN.
