Gordon Billington, the Standish Town Managers recent actions don’t appear to support the premise that 2,578 voters said NO (a 833 vote difference) to the Steep Falls sidewalk project. Mr. Billington has chosen to solicit for bids on the Steep Falls project with a deadline of December 8th (the day before our next Town Council Meeting). The RFP is dated November 25th – before the Town Council even met with residents at a public forum regarding Town Governance. Appointed by the Town Council , Mr. Billington serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the town, and (in accordance with the Charter) has COMPLETE authority over the Town of Standish.
