Got nothing to do this summer and thinking on catching up on TV - TopicsExpress

Got nothing to do this summer and thinking on catching up on TV shows? Well, your friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man (me really) is more than happy to give you a list on what to watch during the summer. Lets start out with Game of Thrones. Things ended with a very high note in the season finale and now that its ended, its the best time to start binge watching. Its epic, brutal, bloody and at times its the abusive show you cant help watching. But its the best show on HBO and is also the most epic show you can find on TV. But do beware, the web is dark and full of spoilers. And winter is coming. House of Cards. Now why House of Cards? Well, not only does Kevin Spacey deliver a kick-ass performance as Frank Underwood, but it also shows the dark, power hungry side of politics. But in short, each episode has you caring for Underwoods desire for power, and what devious scheme he has up his sleeve. Orange Is the New Black. Another Netflix hit but the thing with this one is you actually care about the inmates in prison. Not only are you engaged with each individuals story, you actually start to think about the penal system weather its fair or not. But in all cases, its stories to tell and cast of character helps keep the show engaging and worth watching. Sherlock. Didja miss him the first time? Well now that Series 3 is up on Netflix… START WATCHING RIGHT AWAY! That is really all Ill say on the show since its a masterpiece with its engaging story telling and plot twists and turns in each episode. Hannibal. Now who doesnt love this smart and sophisticated cannibal? Like the man himself, the show is cold, smart, at times proud and sophisticated. Each episode sends a chill down your spine and it makes it even more exciting as James Bond baddie Mads Mikkelsen portrays the sophisticating cannibal. His motives are cold, calculating and smooth and his cold portrayal is a stellar point of the show. Lets hope NBC doesnt try to cancel it like Community… Speaking of which, although Community may have been canceled (and Im still deeply sadden by that by the way) thats not stopping me from re-watching episodes again. Sure season 4 was pretty weak but season 5 was able to bring back hype to the show (even if Donald Glover and Chevy Chase left). As you may know, we live in the darkest timeline. It shall only be reversed if Hulu or Netflix decides to renew the show for season 6. Have faith true believers! SIX SEASONS AND A MOVIE! Going into more superhero territory with Arrow. What makes it greater than other superhero shows is that its not afraid to take other nods/references from the DC Universe and give it a story. Season 2 has really been the standout master season of the series because of that by adding in new villains from the comics like Deathstroke, Nyssa Al Ghül and the Clock King and be able to build a bigger universe where other heroes exist in one universe. Plus now that that series builds towards The Flash show, itll be more engaging and exciting to have team ups to occur from either series. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.. Sure the show started off well but went down slow near the middle. I was really hoping to see heroes introduced in the show. Well, we did get Sif to appear in a team up episode, but once you get towards the third quarter of the season, things get very exciting. What makes it even more exciting is not only because of the ties with the other Marvel movies, but each episode keeps you engaged one episode after another by giving you questions which you want to know the answers too. Also, Coulson and his team are really the heart of the show. Theres a character to love or hate and have some great interaction/chemistry amongst each other. But do know, the events that happened in Captain America 2 are really the selling points of the show. The Walking Dead. Now season 4 ended some time ago but before season 5 airs in October, theres some time for you to get to know Rick and the group. Sure each season can be the same, one half being super awesome and the other going downhill and not having the same hype, but that shouldnt stop you from watching. Each story of the season has a dark twisting turn that gets you deeply engaged and like Game of Thrones, has you question if everyone safe or are they dead already? Doctor Who. So many of us are sadden that Matt Smiths time as the doctor has ended, but before you see Peter Capaldi in action, do re-visit past adventures to see why the show has been fun and exciting for the last 50 years… thats all Ill say since the show is just epic. Breaking Bad. Seriously? Do I need to tell you why? Its one of the greatest shows ever made! START WATCHING! Well, thats all I can really recommend for the summer. So, got nothing to do or thinking of watching one of the above? Well… hop on over to Netflix (or whatever streaming site you use) and start watching.
