Got this email from our friends at Carlisle Events. :Kurk, We are putting together a display for the Philadelphia Auto Show at the end of January. Following is a little background from post on our website. This is main floor display with a lot of attention at one of the biggest auto shows in the country. Philly calls it the “Face Off”. Give the following a read, let me know if you can get word out to some Vanners. We’re thinking we would like to put up a well done 60’s or early 70’s van against a VW Bus. THIS SHOWCASE is a week long event in JANUARY...yeah...i know ..JANUARY....If anyone is interested in this..PLEASE let ME know and ill submit and arrange everything...from my understanding they are NOT looking for a bunch of vans..JUST ONE for the faceoff...now im not sure of cost at this point , but i think with the RIGHT entrant , there will NOT BE A COST to show or for your entry ( just your STAY for you) now if youre close to the event ( because of possible weather conditions and stuff ) that would prolly be BEST , but thats up to the individual. Having said all this...if i can get some interest and we CAN put together a multi vehicle display , im SURE we could get some royal treatment ( but it IS JANUARY )..... AND ANOTHER THING: Ill probably be doing Motorama this year again to keep my face in the areas automotive community , and if any of you want to consider this show this winter, let me know....Ill be doing it snow or shine and as in PREVIOUS years we will have the same weather potential issues to deal with ( same thing with the Philly event obviously ) BUT, if you all remember last year we sat out ( Motorama) and the weather for THAT SHOW was devastating ( we dodged a bullet) , SOOOOOOO , the way Im looking at it is that the Van Gods directed us to sit out for a year, the weather gave us the sign that THAT decision WAS CORRECT, and full speed ahead for NEXT YEAR?...( thats my story (hope) and Im STICKING TO IT!
