Got this question from one of my most favorite likes Miss Mollie - TopicsExpress

Got this question from one of my most favorite likes Miss Mollie in the post section of the facebook page. Should I be still watering my out door plants? My answer was this - Thanks Miss Mollie for the question. Sorry its taken me so long to answer it. Have been out and about most of the day. Now onto watering. Funny you should ask. I was watering my grass just yesterday after most of the neighbors have blown out their sprinkler systems. It is my understanding that watering the lawn during the fall, especially when its been so dry, allows the grass to mend itself from the summers abuse. Even though its not growing as in the summer months, providing water allows the roots to rejuvenate and take up water to better handle the winter. When it comes to trees and shrubs, the best time to water them in is after the leaves have fallen. It is at this time that you do it for your evergreens as well. In addition, you should water deeply those trees and shrubs and the best time is before the ground freezes solid. Goes without saying huh? Hope this helps you out...
