Got to Christchurch via Wellington and the Ferry. The storm had passed but the main highway was a mess with lots of delays for flood damage and slips. My motel is on Colombo street which is right in down town earthquake shattered Christchurch city centre. It was dark when I arrived but to be surrounded by empty building sites where the original buildings were once stood still leaves you lost for words.
