Gov. Jonah Jang of Plateau, on Friday visited victims of the twin bomb blast that rocked the Terminus market, Jos, on Thursday evening. Jang, who prayed for the fast recovery of the victims, wondered why people would derive pleasure from taking innocent lives. If they have any grudges let them come out and say them because any normal human being will not take pleasure in seeing people dying,’’ he said. The governor was accompanied by some top government officials and security chiefs in the state. Jang was at the Plateau Specialist Hospital where 15 persons where receiving treatment, and Our Lady of Apostle Hospital where 10 others were also being treated. The Commissioner for Information, Mr Abubakar Badu, had earlier told newsmen that the state government would foot the bills of the injured persons. Badu said 32 persons died and 45 were injured during the blast, and condoled with the families of those who lost their loved ones. The commissioner urged residents of the city to be vigilant, saying,`` security is everybodys business”. We call on the public to always be on alert and vigilant in order to avert a reoccurrence of such unfortunate incident. Plateau citizens should cooperate with the various security agencies to enable them fish out those behind the evil act and bring them to book,’’ he said.
