Government roles in a market economy is limited but important in the national economy to provide good and services that the market cannot provide effectively such as national defence,low income assitance programs,airports,interstate highways and incentives to encourage prodution of certain products and discourage production and consumption of others,the government also establishes safety guidlines that regulate consumer products,working conditions,and evironmetal production.
