Governors Itinerary: Nakuru Governor Kinuthia Mbugua is not taking tomorrows Sabasaba situation lightly. We are informed that this morning he met leaders representatives of all the 42 communities living in Nakuru County at a local hotel where the security security status was reviewed particularly to information that some members of some communities are fearful of their security in relation to the Sabasaba rally. In the early breakfast event, with leaders of the Nakuru Council of Elders, it was noted that Nakuru is a cosmopolitan county inhabited by all Kenyan tribes and are all there by right and that there are no real threats to any community. The Council of Elders in conjunction with the Governor and Nakuru County Commissioner Mohammed Birik have reiterated their earlier appeal to all the communities to continue living in harmony and nomunity should be fearful for there is no security threat in the county. Nobody should therefore run away from the for any reason whatsoever said the Governor in a communique issued after ththe meeting. Governor Kinuthia-in line with this-will attend two prayer church services this morning beginning with one at at the Kimangu Catholic Church in Rongai constituency and another later on at the Naivasha Anglican Church of Kenya where he will join worshippers and assist raise funds for the development of both the Rongai Catholic Parish and Naivasha AGC parish. On Friday the Governor said reports of resurgence of threats are non-existent and should be totally ignored by all Nakuru County residents. He was reacting to reports that members of the Luo community living in Naivasha especially flower farms workers are leaving the county enmasse ahead of the Sabasaba rally tomorrow and the emergence of leaflets recently giving Luos seven days to quit Rift Valley in the wake of Cord leader Raila Odingas call for mass action to pressurize the UhuRuto Government to yield to national dialogue. Nakuru County is largely a Jubilee Coalition zone thats led by the UhuRuto adminstration which makes the minority Luos feel vulnerable since Naivasha borders the Kikuyu populated Central Province and in particularly Kiambu County where President Uhuru hails from. On Friday Governor Kinuthia said it defeats reason where this fear has all of a sudden come from noting such an exodus would disrupt harmonious social coexistence and was totally unnecessary, cumbersome, expensive and economically ruinous.
