Govt of the people, by the people, for the people. We are supposed to have a representative government by design of our forefathers written down in our Constitution. These representatives are supposed to share our concerns with the rest of Congress and deal with situations (on a national or state vs state basis). Most representatives at this countrys founding believed that 30,000 was the maximum any rep could possibly effectively represent. Today that number is, on average, 725,000. To put that in perspective, at our nations founding, there would only be 5 representatives. 8 states would be left out entirely. This is no longer a self-governing population. We belong to an oligarchy, or an empire. The president (or his vast army of czar run organizations - think EPA, USDA, etc) create the laws and regulations that Congress has no choice but to adhere to. And the Supreme Court creates policy - think Obamacare being rewritten to NOT be a tax, or gay marriage being forced upon states that have clearly voted against it. The notion that we are an indivisible Union is a myth created by the most vile president this country ever had, A Lincoln. When our government is no longer capable of truly representing its people, the people have a responsibility to break away from it, and, to start fresh. I now open the floor for debate...
