Grace not under law (Romans 6:14)! Many people are always confused when people make mention of grace and law. Many people think without the law sin will increase but that is not the case. But because of the law trespasses has increased (Romans 5:20). But before I enter into this new covenant of grace through the spirit of grace (Hebrews 10:20), I will like to clarify some verse that has mostly been misunderstood, Matthew 5:17-18. Matthew 5:17-18 says; do not think I have come to ABOLISH the law or the prophets: I have come not come to ABOLISH them but to FULFILL them. I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of the pen; will by any means disappear from the Law until EVERYTHING is ACCOMPLISHED. Jesus was talking about what He is about to do and what He will do after it. He fulfill ALL THE LAW AND PROPHESIES (Matthew 3:15). Do you establish a new covenant when the old has NOT been fulfilled? That is what Jesus did and He established a new covenant with His Blood. For EVERY covenant is established with blood. These are the other covenants in the Bible that was fulfilled and the preceding one ushered in. Noahs covenant of the rainbow was established with blood (Genesis 8:20-22; 9) and fulfilled by Abram; Abrahams covenant of the circumcision of every male (Genesis 17:9-14, with blood of the circumcision) and Moses fulfilled it (Exodus 4:24-26); The Moses covenant of Law (Exodus 20 to Deuteronomy, the Laws are 613 including the 10 commandments) which our Lord Jesus fulfilled. Jesus fulfilled these laws because NO MAN could do it. After He fulfilled the Law, He established a NEW COVENANT of Grace (Matthew 26:26-28, Mark 14:22-24, Luke 22:17-20, 1 Corinthians 11:23-26, Hebrews 9:16-22). After He fulfilled the Law, He abolished the Law in his flesh (For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition [between us]; Having ABOLISHED in his flesh the enmity, [even] the law of commandments [contained] in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, [so] making peace; Ephesians 2:14-15) This new covenant was even confirmed by the prophets; Jeremiah 31:31-34, Ezekiel 37:26-28, Isaiah 59:21, Joel 2:28-32). God is operating under a new covenant established by God himself. God does not rule under two covenants at a time. Grace does not make us sin, law does. Grace gives us the power to say no to unrighteousness. People who keep on sinning are conscious of the law and that is why they sin and feel guilty when they sin. The Law is Holy, but we are unholy that is why we keep breaking them. For by the knowledge of the law is sin (Romans 3:19-20). For therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ. We are under grace not under law. Christ is the ruler of the new covenant. Under this new covenant God remembers our sins NO MORE (Hebrews 8:8-13, 10:16-18). We are free but do not use you free to engage in the sinful nature of the flesh (Galatians 5:13). Those who advocate the teaching and observance of the law as part of salvation do not know what they are talking about (1 Timothy 1:5-8). For the sting of death is sin, but the power/strength of sin is the law (1 Corinthians 15:56). For you who are trying to be justified by the observance of the law has been alienated from Christ; YOU HAVE FALLEN AWAY FROM GRACE (Galatians 5:4). For sin shall not be your master, but you have power over sin. You control sin, but sin does not control us (Romans 6:14). Know that anything that controls you is your master. We have the power to do all things but we are not controlled by them but by the Spirit of God. Everything is permissible for me, but not everything id beneficial. Everything is permissible for me but- But I will not be mastered by anything (1 Corinthians 6:12). Walk by the Spirit and you will not fulfill the lust of the flesh. We are happily married to Christ (Grace), don’t keep running after you “ex” (Law). God is Spirit and all who worship Him must worship him in Spirit and Truth (John 4:24). God bless you and stay bless!!!
