Graces reunion tour of NICU 1 came to an end this afternoon as she was escorted back to Site G in NICU 2 to reclaim her penthouse crib. She looked like a giant in her little incubator, but now she looks little again in her nice big crib. The doctors extibated her breathing tube again yesterday because Grania was too uncomfortable with the breathing tube down her throat, as she kept wiggling her head and gagging herself...shes now happily on high flow for the next couple of days and will hopefully have a swift transition back to low flow. Grace was also taken off of the fentinol this morning, and seems none the worse for wear for it, as a dose of Tylenol every six hours seems to be taking the edge off any pain she might be experiencing with her incision. Her tummy DOES seem a little bloated tonight, and she has a nasty thick green slime coming out of her suction tube, but Nurse Michelle says she will keep an eye on it in case things change. Doctors tomorrow may start talking about when food might resume...time will tell...
