Graeme Mackenzie, of Inverness, Scotland, is coming to the Twin Cities and will be giving a talk about the “Clans, Septs and Surnames in the Highlands of Scotland”. Answers will be provided to questions such as: Why are there over 200 ways to spell the name MacMillan? How can a Cameron really be a MacFee, and a Fraser a Lee? Which Scottish chief traced his ancestry all the way back to Adam? Which clans descend from King Macbeth? When does a Sept become a Clan? Please join us on Monday, 7:00 p.m. on July 8th, 2013. Graeme will speak for an hour+, and then we’ll have an informal reception afterward in the outer hallway. We will collect $10 at the door. The event is to be held at the Minnesota Genealogical Society. For additional/updated information on the event you can go to: mcmillen-design/mackenzie/
