Gramma and Grampa;s sauerkraut day . We used to use the old cabbage slicer and it ruined Gramps; arm for days. We were ready to give up sauerkraut making until a very Dear lady gave us this meat slicer . So now gramps sits on his heiny and slices away while Gram runs all over trying to keep up. Thought you might to see our operation and like perogy making sauerkraut making has become an art. We do have 2 cabbage slicers to give away if anyone cares to make their own kraut . No you find your own recipe. ha. The only drawback about sauerkraut is that when it starts working away [as it should] the house does not have a very pleasant aroma . I do invite customers in and forget to tell them their is kraut in the making so I wonder what the topic is on their way home. The carport smells heavenly with its containers of Pinesol but the house is a different story . When the kraut is all ready we package it in large zip lock bags and then we put them into sturdy washed pellatt bags . They go into the freezer and for a month you will know their is kraut in that freezer. This is when the Wholesale and Ted;s No frills are all sold out of baking soda boxes . So get yours now cause in 3 weeks They are sold out As of tomorrow I will have all my winter menu stock available . I did get rather lazy after the market but when people drop in looking for a soup or meal and I do not have it is very embarrassing . Like why advertise when you cant deliver . Granny and Gramps are doing deliveries on Thursday so if you need anything for Thanksgiving we will drop it of to you . Granny is excited cause she gets to eat out Thursday . Mmmm- A&W or chicken or a real restaurant ? Granny is always so happy to get back home cause the phone might ring or theirs an email that is looking for our food .
