Granny Grues Strange Critter of the Day ~ The Violet Sea Snail is a tiny creature that spends its life floating upside-down from a raft of bubbles strengthened and held together with mucous. Despite its delicate appearance it is a fierce predator, feasting on larger surface voyagers like By-The-Wind-Sailors, and even the dreaded Portuguese Man-Of-War. They all start out life as males, and turn into females at some point. And they are violet. Lovely!
