Grant City MO supercell today somewhere before there. Fun chase. Just about ended while getting on the storm. Deer ran out and thought no way I could miss it. Slid sideways wheels screeching. This thing missed the front bumper by like an inch. His hair probably touched. Then saw another. Then a snapping turtle. I tried to help him cross the road but holy shit. Theyve never tried to reach around and get me before. That was enlightening. Head can reach mid way across shell top and is freaking instant. Tried again and thought, ok stick. He snapped that in half. Was like, screw you and left him. Lightning, top of hill, no shoulder. Then saw another deer. All in the space of a mile. Before next one 10 turkey vultures chilling next to road. This is classic nw MO. A zoo and crazy roads and hills. Earlier in IA there was something between towns on a main highway with parents and kids on bicycles. I swear when I was driving to the target the thought crossed my mind, if I come across more bikers on highways in IA I might lose my mind. Sure as shit. Come up on an ambulance with lights on at end of them but he pulls over. Didnt know what to do so started to try and pass them. Gravel shoulder so they just road down east bound lane. Hills and curves. Miles of these people. The most silly thing to me to have on a highway that isnt closed off. Id soon come up on a kid peddling fast as he could. Then be stuck behind him. Soon there were firetrucks parked on shoulder that would spray these people. Just weird. Close the highway and setup a detour or use some non-main highway. Felt like the most unsafe thing imaginable.
