Grants Management Database Intern In partnership with the Department of Transportation (DOT) the CUNY IT Specialists Internship Program has a paid internship positions available for CUNY students. The program allows students to receive practical hands-on training and experience while assisting The Department of Transportation in achieving their long-term technical objectives. The internship will be at 55 Water Street, 6th Floor New York, NY 10041. The NYCDOT Office of Metropolitan Planning Operations and Grants is developing a data integration system to manage and enhance the budgeting and project management for the Unified Planning Work Program. This project will require you to assist the project manager and various IT Staff to construct a sustainable database (preferably linked to the Department’s Share Point site) which will feasibly provide staff and Project Managers with the functionality to input work hours and project expense on a specific activity into a Share Point interface and for the Program Manager to be able to extrapolate the inputted data to create claims worksheets for proper billing for the UPWP. In addition, the Intern would be expected to develop a work flow plan to ensure that all users understand data and for the purposes of site organizational management. Possession of excellent quantitative and data management skills (e.g. Access, SQL, HTML), writing and research skills, and attention to detail are required. Deliverables for the intern would include a fully designed and functioning database that will be able to output Grant Timesheets, salary summaries, expense summaries, claims and various data management forms and a work flow plan. The Intern will glean knowledge on advanced SharePoint Development, Grants Budgeting Management and how to develop a work flow planning document which will affect the entire Agency.
