Great Resource: #1 Go to burnermap NOW and connect it to your FB account and update where you will be camping. This allows for you to print a map of where all your friends will be at that have registered with it. It allows them to see you on the map as well. Print the map the day that you leave. Please spread the word to your friends about this site as well!! Many know about it but some do not. #2 If you want a COMPLETE list of all DJs and music playing at every stage (including the small ones you dont even know about) then you MUST download and PRINT yourself your own copy of the Rockstar Librarian. You can find it here: rockstarlibrarian/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/RSL_2014_Spread_GS.pdf (Open it on a computer and not on a phone) #3 Some high tech nerds at Google that went to Burning Man had a GREAT Seminar on what kinds of food to bring and how to minimize your time/energy in the kitchen in order to maximize your amount of fun you have. The notes from the seminar can be found here: https://docs.google/document/d/1fbN93Gw0R0swFVdZ8IHkDYPpWczlGt2cnyEkj0p-dXk/preview #4 Want to plan out some of your events ahead of time before you get to the burn?? GREAT IDEA!! You can see a FULL List of all the events going on here! playaevents.burningman/2014/playa_events/1/ #5 BUY Heavy Duty Tent stakes NO MATTER WHAT. You can find good ones in the camping section of Wal-Mart for like $3. They are saying the wind is so strong this year that it has already knocked over a bunch of the empty porta potties. Bring that shit or your tent might disappear. Seriously. #6 If you want to get a sneak peak of just how many camps are on the playa this year? then check out this really cool site I found with an extremely descriptive map. You have to be on a computer though. https://mapsengine.google/map/u/0/edit?mid=zGCydst0_6uI.kT5aPNbgSvFI #7 Remember when you arrive to the Burn, YOU MUST DRIVE 5mph THE ENTIRE TIME to camp!!! Not 6mph... if you get pulled over on the way to camp by a cop you ALWAYS refuse to a search. If they do happen to bring dogs at that point then know that they sniff for weed only, so if you have weed then it better be sealed up good and away from anywhere the dog could smell it. If they try to hold you and talk to you just ask them Am I being arrested? What are my charges? and then follow up with Am I free to go? That is all you have to know. Also if they ask for your name and ID you are required to tell them and show them. YOU are not required to tell them where you are camping and you do not have to take them to your camp if they ask. #8 Remember to step outside of your comfort box and explore and try things that you thought you might not ever do! At Burning Man anything is possible!
