Great advice for providing shelter to ferals: -MAINTENANCE, check straw regularly to see if still dry -DOORWAY SIZE, have straw up to doorway, with tunnel pushed in straw with your arm to a cubby in the rear, and allow plastic bag covering styrofoam to cover doorway a bit if not protected from elements -PROTECTION FROM ELEMENTS-raise shelters off ground(use pallets), and ideally have some sort of covering whether a portico, a roof. -BEDDING- straw ONLY -CAMOUFLAGE- use existing bushes, evergreen boughs, Christmas trees, leaves -DETER WILDLIFE- do not place food in or near shelters alleycat.org/page.aspx?pid=296
