If you thinking of how to do your timelines, take a read, its great suggestions! Photophil Steingard Planning your Dinner and Party!!!! Very Important!!! I wanted to share this thought it was important. There are 2 ways to plan your dinner and party. One the complimentary dinner at the Steak restaurant and a party afterwards at the Wet Bar and Parrot Bar. The 2nd way everything at one location which you pay for. If you have dinner at the Steak restaurant. Make sure you eat and have your guests move over to the party location ASAP. So many times guests just hang out at dinner and then slowly drift over to the party. You cannot do speeches at the Steak restaurant.. Its a busy area with many hotel guests and music in the background. So moving over to the party location quickly is very important. Once you arrive, speeches are done first then the first dances with the couple and parents. That can take up a lot of your party time. Usually there are 5 speeches, maid of honour, best man, both parents and bride and groom If only 5 minutes a piece that still adds up to 30 minutes. Then the 3 first dances. another 12-15 minutes Your party has to end at 11:00 You can move it to the disco after and party all night long if you want to. Ive had some great weddings lately with amazing speeches and slide shows It really added to the wedding but again it took up quite a bit of time. So a 9:30 start for the party. At 10:00 is when you need to cut the cake, then immediately after the garter and bouquet toss. Then the party starts up again about 10:20 until 11:00 Time can really fly by so I wanted to share how valuable your time is. Ive had a couple of weddings lately where they did the speeches at a welcome dinner. They saved the couple 30 minutes or even more. Ive also had where the bride and groom danced with both parents at the same time. Also if your guests sit too long at dinner and long speeches, and this may sound silly....but they will loose the party mode they would have had and it will take awhile for them to have a few drinks and get going again. Trust me after attending about 1800 weddings you see it all. So the sooner the party gets going the better the party will be. 2nd option If you do a private event. You can do speeches during dinner so by the time you are finished eating, you roll right into the 1st dances and the party will start going quicker. You pay for this option but its great not having to relocate everyone and get things going again sooner. You do loose people along the way. Going back to the room and wash rooms if you have 2 locations Also DJ or not......I have to say. The BETTER the DJ the BETTER the party!!! You can do your own music and yes it can be a good party. But an excellent DJ will keep the party alive even more. You want your guests to have a party they will remember. They paid good money coming to your wedding. I feel the best way to pay them back is to give them a awesome party. And remember you are king and queen for one day. ENJOY every minute of your wedding day. You are at one of the best resorts in Punta Cana for a wedding. Let your WC and staff at the hotel do their jobs and give you a wedding your have been dreaming about. But plan your day. Give your photographer enough time to do their job. Youll come home with amazing photos. And watch your times to make sure you have a wonderful evening with family and friends.......HAPPY HAPPY wedding day Phil
