Great article, just one serious remark: the correspondent got it completely wrong, what the thousands of the choir singers are singing, what is the content of the programme. These are not old, 130-140 yrs old folk songs, but highly suffisticated and most wonderful PROFESSIONAL opuses of the best Latvian composers of all times. The choir songs are sung by mixed, male and female choirs. Songs are sing in 6-8 voices. The conductors are the the most distinguished conductors of the world - Latvian conductors are world famous not just in choir music conducting, but also in symphony music conducting (as Mariss Jansons, Andris Nelsons, Maris Sirmais, Kaspars Putnins, Sigvards Klava, Ainars Rubikis, etc.). This is a superpower of the highest quality!!!
