Great friend Nancy Fennell sent me the Grateful Challenge...a 5 day, 3 things Im grateful for a day process. Day 1. *That I was born in America, nowhere else, 1952, at the most extraordinary time to see what freedom allowed man to achieve before technology, what real music sounded like before auto-tune, and to know what a true work ethic feels like...its not about the paycheck, its how you feel about yourself at the end of the day. *Grateful to two parents in a long bad marriage but still gave every advantage to their two kids, one became a doctor, the other they shook their heads at a lot but never turned away. *And to one man in Veterans Cemetery, a Black guy from Philly, caramel actually, who saw me lifting a huge Western saddle in `76 and said, Hey Red, let me help you. Hysterically funny, became bestie Dickinson `70 Becky Moores brother, Logan Johnson`s father, grandson Jax`s Grandfather, and my everything...Brad, where are those nightly visits you promised? Thunders gonna roll when I see you, dudarama!
