Great idea Nick. But the limits are too low - 14 days for someone with psychosis? Do you know what psychosis is like? Short episodes are often gone by then. Long episodes would be terrifying for some, for that amount of time. 18 weeks wait for a counselling session for someone with depression and they are proud of this announcement? Do they know how much you get destroyed during the wait?? For myself, by the time my counselling appointment has come through, my initial problem I wanted to talk about has usually gone away deep into the recesses of my mind and personal issues have built up a wall around them, and if I havent found someone else to talk to during the wait, I have sunk into deep depression. This is why I do not, and will never use NHS counselling - the waiting list, the pain they force you to go through in telephoning a scary premium rate number to make your own appointment (as if making the journey to a doctor to ask for an appointment wasnt a brave enough struggle) and the kicking you off if you miss an appointment (even due to illness!!!!) makes it unfit for purpose. I am much happier and healthier through talking to friends and family, doing my own psychoanalysis. I will not be satisfied until people are given what they need the very next day. The one good announcement: suicidal patients will be given the same priority as heart attack patients. But again - WTF? Why wasnt this the case before?!! Oh youre suicidal? Ah just wait a few days and well get to you eventually bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-29529877
