Great news! We are going to get our Performing Arts Precinct just 3 blocks or 700 metres from your door! Great to see this is starting to come together after a very dodgy start. The original plan was to demolish the Town Hall and build all new but the City Council deciding to spend over $127mill to fix the Town Hall put this Precinct in jeopardy cos other groups could not see how the $30mill left could be enough to make it work and they were starting to say theyd rather build in other parts of town! But it finally it looks like Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Authority (CERA) has pulled it together. Its another important milestone in the recovery of Christchurch and we celebrate it!
