Great news on the mallards we rescued yesterday!!! Garri Guecking hooked us up with a friend who hooked us up with a friend who had a pond and does animal rescue. She took them in Middletown, Ohio and when we got onto her property, all these other ducks and geese came to greet us. And then the orange kitty had to come see what was going on. The mallards were very happy to see farm life versus city life. They will be released from the kennel either tonight or tomorrow (so she knows they will stay and not fly away) and get to swim in a real pond for the first time in their lives. She said they will automatically hang with the other feathered friends. And if they fly away they will return every year. Thank you all for your concern and advice for these ducks. The alpaca shown needs help. We are not equipped to help yet. He stands like this permanently probably from an injury. I was told it happened 2 yrs ago. He lives across the street from the ducks new home. When we get out rescue center, I told her we would take her alpaca and he can get all the help he needs. But if there is an alpaca rescuer out there who would like to help please let us know. He is in a great place with plenty of land, food and shelter. Just needs medical attention and may prefer to be without other alpacas as he is grumpy.
