Great picnic! Good to see everyone today. After riding/talking to numerous club members, I think we can come to a consensus that we will move the Rose City Tri this year to concession #2 on lake Tyler West. I feel like this is a great venue. The city had emailed me back in March, advising me of the construction on the dam & that our race in Sept. was questionable. I have since gotten a phone call from city officials confirming that there would be no more permits at that venue this calendar year. At that point I began searching lake Tyler for an alternate venue. I think I have found a really nice place. Also, I have talked to many club members, prior to our May 21st meeting, to get the backing I need to confidently say that the Rose City Tri is indeed a go this year. The bike course will be a bit faster on extremely smooth surface. The run course is absolutely flat. The swim will be a knee deep beach start, finishing on a very smooth concrete boat ramp. Im very excited about this course. My goal is to have everyone in our club that wants to race to do just that. RACE. We can all pitch in, do a little portion as a club & still do what we really like & that is to do triathlons. I look forward to meeting with you on May 21st at Fresh. We will discuss our advertising plans & get input from the members to keep this award winning Sprint a top notch race for Tyler, Texas.
