Great review of a memorable evening. I sang Ornette s song for the first time , 43 years after recording it- as my exploratory career path had taken a different trajectory into different genres of music - time to return to Jazz- because it was the spirit of freedom that both Jazz and America represent which initially motivated me to immigrate to the U.S. - with a dream to synthesize the two cultures.
