Greater Manchester secures £476.7m Growth Deal from government An ‘historic’ deal that will see more than 5,000 jobs created and £470m invested in science, skills and transport across Greater Manchester has today been revealed. The city region’s Local Enterprise Partnership has agreed the details of its Growth Deal with the government and it will see £169.7m spent in the first year of the agreement alone. Projects linked to the Growth Deal will start in 2015/16 and will also help more than 75,000 people learn new skills, as well as generating an estimated £80m in public and private investment.
