Greed over land in Mayapur has escalated to an all-time high. Very sad. "Last night at around 9pm there was a vicious attempt to take the life of H.G. Sadhu Prabhu, a senior devotee from Argentina, who is now an American citizen. A group of armed men entered his apartment under false pretences and attempted to stab him to death. Some of the attackers were caught by some very brave devotees and were later given to the police. Sadhu Prabhu was rushed to hospital and received emergency treatment and was later transferred to Kolkata where he is now in a stable condition. An investigation was immediately launched and it has become apparent that the attack was ordered by an ISKCON congregation devotee known to us, who was involved in land dealings with Sadhu Prabhu. All the suspects are in Police custody and an official police case has been made. I would like to request our community of devotees to pray sincerely for the recovery of H.G. Sadhu Prabhu, that he may recover quickly and fully. Please also have trust that from management side we are doing all that we can to ensure that the criminals are dealt with as severely as the law allows. I would also like to request all of our foreign devotees to avoid engaging in any independent land and apartment dealings with all local people wether or not they are devotees.
