Greetings AIMC students: At the Deans Tea meeting last - TopicsExpress

Greetings AIMC students: At the Deans Tea meeting last Thursday, we discussed two main issues: (1) The Clinic Registration Process We are working on making the registration process more efficient and easier to navigate. During the coming weeks, we will look comprehensively at the entire registration process, rather than focusing only on the priority ranking process as a single item to correct. We will discuss our proposed changes at the next Deans Tea in late February, and will invite student feedback before finalizing any changes. We want to make the process work better for everyone. (2) Patient Treatment Count Requirements ACAOM (our accreditation body) requires that students in all Oriental Medical schools administer a minimum of 350 patient treatments to graduate. We discussed various ways for achieving the required patient count of 350 patient treatments for graduation, including: extern sites shifts, outreach events where patients are treated with ear seeds, utilizing new patient coupons that are available to students from Student Services, and students treating other students in the AIMC clinic. Students who want to know their current patient treatment numbers should review their own documentation. We are also working on creating patient treatment benchmark guidelines for the various levels of the Clinic Intern program. This will help you better maintain and track your progress through the AIMC degree program. We encourage you to attend the next Deans Tea, and hope to see you there. Best, Mike Morgan, Clinic Dean & Megan Haungs, Academic Dean
